Tests.
4 . 6 . 1 Airflow resistance.
The airflow resistance shall be determined
. using indicator, Resistance, Q112.
4.6.2 DOP smoke pe netration. The DOP smoke penetration shalI be
determined using the Penetrometer, Filter Testing, DOP, Q127.
4.6.3 Rough handling. The canister shalI be rough handled for five
minutes using Machine, Vibrating, Q110. After rough handling, the canister
shall be tested as specified in 4.6.1 and 4.6.2.
4 . 6 . 4 Leakage. The canister shalI be checked for leakage using a
commercial can testing machine and subjecting the canister to the required
internal pressure.
5. PREPARATION FOR DELlVERY (For repair parts packaging see 6.4. )
Level shalI be as specified (see 6. 2).
5.1 Packaging.
5.1.1 Level A. Twelve canisters shall be packaged in a W5c, style RSC,
fiber box conforming to PPP-6-636, in one layer of three rows, four per row.
Interlocking slotted partitions, having twelve individual cells, shall be
fabricated from the same material as the box. Closure of the box shalI be by
taping in accordance with appendix to the box specification for interior boxes.
5 . 1 . 2 Level C. The canisters shalI be packaged to afford adequate
protection from the supply source to the first receiving activity for immediate
use.
Level shall be as specified (see 6.2).
5 . 2 Packing.
Four boxes of canisters, packaged as specified in 5.1,1,

shall be packed in a V3c, style RSC fiber box conforming to PPP-8-636. In
addition to box closure requirements, the box seams, corners, and manufacture's
joint shalI be taped. Tape banding shall be used in lieu of metal banding to
reinforce box.
