*3.2.1 Outer container. The outer container shall conform to Figure 1 and shall be fabricated from material conforming to MIL-C-577, type II, color sage green. The outer container shall consist of a closed stitched pocket with two flaps on one end of the container.
*3.2.1.1 Stitches, seams and stitchings. Stitches, seams and stitching shall conform to FED-STD-751. Thread breaks, skipped stitches and bobbin runouts shall be repaired by beginning 1/4 inch in back of the defective area and continuing 1/4 inch beyond the defect.
*3.2.1.2 Flaps. The flaps shall be overedge stitched with stitch type 504, stitching type Efd-1, 1/8 inch gage. 12 +1 stitches per inch. The cotton thread
shall conform to type IA3, ticket No. 24, 4 ply of V-T-276.
*3.2.1.3 Edge seam. The pocket edge seam shall be stitched with a single row of stitch type 301, seam type SSa-1, 3/16 inch gage, 14 + stitches per inch. The polyester thread shall conform to type 1, class 1, size E of V-T-285. The seam and stitch shall extend onto the flap area so that the ends of the overedge stitching are caught in the seams (see Figure 1). The ends of the type 301 stitch shall be backstitched a minimum of 3/8 inch.
*3.2.2 Inner container. The inner container material shall conform to PPP-B-
566. The dimensions shall be 1/2 +1/8 inches by 1-1/4 inches by 5 +1/8
inches.
